PRAISE BE TO GOD WHO SMITES OUR PRIDE
March 27 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on 1Samuel 4-6
Key Verse – 1Samuel 4:3 And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the LORD smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.
PRAISE BE TO GOD WHO SMITES OUR PRIDE
Praise be to God for smiting our pride so we can:
Exalt Him in His bright holiness
Expect for His blessings, so heavenly
Experience His bountiful helpfulness
Excel by His building-up hopefulness
Extol for His best honour
1Samuel 4:22 Praise be to the Lord Who protects
His glory from departing that:
Shows sinfulness’ sore --- necessitating redemption
Signifies selfish stature --- needy of repentance
States shallow spirituality --- toward nurtured revival
Shames stewards’ slothfulness --- never to be rewarded
Speaks of servanthood’s shaky stand --- now for restoration
1Samuel 5:11 Praise be to the Saviour for warning us against
experiencing His heavy hand because of iniquities:
Hindering spread of the Gospel
Hampering sharing with gratitude
Holding back supply of grace
Harming sincere goodness
Hurting souls midst greediness
1Samuel 6:20 Praise be to the Almighty
Who upholds us while we stand before Him as His:
Precious children, trusting His love
Protected believers, taking His Bible lessons
Provided heirs, thanking Him for everlasting life
Propelled soldiers, triumphing in His leadership
Powered worshippers, testifying about His truth learned. Amen!
