Power Nap

Trying to spring clean
And muscle spasms are a thing
So I’m forced to take pain pill
And now I’m sleepy lost my will

So gonna take a Power Nap
Then give dust bunnies a zap
It sucks being chronically ill
Yet poetry gives me a thrill still

So glad poetry still gives you a thrill Karen. Sorry about your pain. I deal with burning pain in my feet everyday and I have to soak at night through out the night. The pain at first was unbearable I felt like I was being tortured. I finally got three bins and filled them with ice water and every night I soak my feet and are able to sleep. Other people have worst deceases I am not complaining... Hugs.

Dear Karen, Oh how your words mix humor and struggle into a heartfelt rhythm. I say that even in weariness, your spirit shines through, finding poetry in the pause, strength in the stillness. May your power nap bring you renewal, and may your dust bunnies beware! Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Sorry to know that you have muscle spasms and chronic illness. Despite such ailments, you are determined to do the spring cleaning. Relatively I enjoy better health now. But my household chores keep me away from poetry soup very often. Wish you better health Karen.

Hi Karen, I love this rhyme scheme concerning the realities of everyday physical pain that many of us are forced to deal with. I hope yours isn't too unbearable and glad you can make light of it with such an upbeat and positive poem. I hope you can enjoy your weekend, Terrell

Poetry seems to be a universal good. I am sorry that your health problems give you so much pain. When naps help, it's best to take them. I hope you are feeling better soon. I like your poems.

Karen, the message of your poem resonates with me. I have arthritis, and housework, especially heavy cleaning, is getting really hard for me! Janice

I’m sorry you have arthritis. Four hours after taking pain meds I feel rested but the pain is not gone. I gotta clean my oven. So will wait until midnight and see if my body cooperates. Hugs
