Poverty

I've looked for poverty everywhere
and still I see their money.
Their cheques being sent to politicians-
the land of milk and honey.

And everywhere I know to be
their offers chasing me.
For everywhere I hope to go
their taxes placing me.

When everytime I think I'm free
their asking I give more.
For everytime they think of me
they're apt to be as poor.
