Pot Luck

The shade of a monkeypot tree
Is as cool as the shade can be
But monkeypod pox
Can chill city blocks
So please keep your distance from me!

I was actually bitten by a monkey when I was about 5 years old (still have a little scar) which had gotten out of its cage at a little zoo my grandparents had taken me to. Glad we didn’t know about monkeypox then - we just worried about rabies!
