Possum Stew

To weigh him hold him by tail
   Six pounds fresh not stale
Skin if not and toss in pot
          Diced red potato
         Large ripe tomato
           Cook him slow
                   Oh!

Still laughing at Rob's comment. Caryl, I've never eaten possum, but know many folks who have. Sounds like you have a great recipe for it! Congratulations on your win in Sara's contest. Love, Carolyn

Oh I love it. I could have a big stew if I boiled the animals that are trying to take over here. I have been feeding a stray kitty who won't come in to eat. If I don't watch and pick it up soon enough I have had possums, raccoons and just a few minutes ago a baby skunk feasting on his left overs. Thank you for your comments on my "Nathan" poem. He was a local boy. I sent a card with the poem to his folks and it was read at his military funeral. So sad. Love, Joyce

Never had possum stew and I really don't want to. I'll eat just about anything if it's not road kill. That is what popped in my head for a country boil, alot of country folks out here probably have had it. I've heard it is quite greasy. With all of the animals your are feeding, I think I'd say indoors. God Bless you Joyce~ Caryl
