Possessed

         Insatiable compulsion overwhelms.
                         I am losing control in all realms.
                              This irresistible urge I try to subdue.
           What makes me so attracted to you?

        I am going to resist, I want to break free.
                 Spell binding power you have over me
                            You’re in my thoughts, night, and day.
          A driving force and I can’t break away.

         It can’t be love, I detest the way you are.
                         You had the ability to inflict this scar.
                                 You instill mindful terror into my soul.
            Yet I yearn for you to make me whole.

              We don’t agree! You like metal I like Jazz
                          Boisterous is your way, mine is pizzazz.
                                   I will listen to Morbid Angel just for you.
           You have a hold on me no matter what I do.

              I desire you going to sleep, and in my dreams.
                    In my head as I wake and all day long it seems.
                            There’s no release for me, I am totally obsessed.
          How is it I love someone that has me possessed?

Many congratulations once again dear Wen with this wonderful winning poem! Applause! You have captured possession with all its power here within all wonderfully written poetic lines. ‘ Spell binding power you have over me’ ‘ You have a hold on me no matter what I do’. So well expressed and very intense. You have captured the title so, so well for the person is captured by a whole consuming obsession even though being possessed instills terror so deep. A fatal attraction!

You read into the poem exactly what I felt as I wrote. I think poetry is much like acting.
