Portraits

Photos are a heritage to the past
A memory of what once was
After all has been done and people are left changed
Portraits are no longer portraits
But a memory of what once was.

A thoughtful, wistful reflection on how photographs preserve more than an image: they hold time, change, and the emotional trace of those we have known. The repetition of “a memory of what once was” gives the poem a quiet, lingering sense of nostalgia.🖼
