Popcorn Words
Words string together like popcorn garlands
with occasional cranberries for punctuation
Draped with care for spacing and flow
adding that something extra to your creation
There your words hang where all can admire
in awe and take in the imagery
Yet eventually the backdrop dries and
yellows, crumbles away in misery
Words escape, some forgotten
Taken down and tossed out like tinsel and dead tree
But in our minds words are bursting forth like popcorn
kernels , splitting our thoughts at the seed
