Pools Edge
Warm hands slip and slide, deliriously succinct
in the August heat. Hair’s humid and unkempt.
We head for the pool’s edge and together
we jump in, our laughter bubbles to the surface.
Our buoyant suits rise and salute the sunrise.
Skin to skin collection of vibrant rays and youth.
Fluffy-white clouds make for a perfect day.
The sunstorm with its powerful rainbow hues
color our minds for a rainy day, when less than
romance cradles us and we start to forget -
oh no…we will remember and revive our love.

perfect humidity &
humility
standing on edge
we leap
in wonder
in the coolness
in laughter
we find each other’s
smiles
we kiss
we remember
we climb the ladder
of love
