Pool of Memories
I sink down in grief
drowning in a pool of memories
the bottom is covered in gems
each gem a precious moment in time
I pick one up
joy makes me rise to the surface
like a bubble
I pop
when I reach the top
because you're not there
I sink again
in despair
the gems are so attractive
so I pick up another
rise to the top
pop
and sink again
and again
and again
so many wonderful memories
a lifetimes worth
I will always miss you
but the gems keep me going back
to dive into the pool of memories
