Another winner! That "whoa mule" phrase is perfect for the piece. Pomposity of expression + self love narcissism certainly need restraining. A fine write indeed. Cheers Brian

Brian, Thanks for the visit to my page. I appreciate the time spent here. I am glad that you liked the expression "whoa mule". My father used that many times in his life. He ploughed one as a boy, teen, young man, and a newly married man so he understood their nature and turned it around to describe many scenes. He let me plough a mule once or twice so that I would know what it was like. It was just a short distance each time. LOL..My nephew fell down and the mule dragged him. LOL. Sara

This piece puts me in mind of a line from the great rock band Genesis' [w/ Peter Gabriel as lead vocalist] called Supper's Ready. The line is "Narcisus, a flower?" It gives me a knowing grin, thank you my friend and fellow poet.

I believe we live in an epidemic world full of narcissism. Its a sign of the times and I pray that we realize it never works in the end, only selfless love brings about healing and acceptance. Thank you for sharing your truth dear Sara. Be well, stay strong, in these difficult times, its becoming all to important to remember our brothers and our sisters. thank you

Mystic, I have also noticed this and I know there are more people but in ratio I believe this ill is much more prevalent than years ago. I also wonder why? Your kind review is encouraging. Sara
