Pondering

In silence I empty my mind, try to
think what is true, good, pleasant, joyful, right.
Instead I ponder how life is unfair.
How people struggle daily or in war.

Children, who are cared and nurtured or who
are abused, neglected, cry out in fright.
Most living in peace, no worries to bear.
Innocents in fear due to war, uproar.
Why are some so fortunate, lucky too?
Why do some carry the weight of hard plights?
And to understand why life is not fair
is not for me, but to care and speak for.

Blessings to the people, who see and care.
Mercy to the ones, who tear, cause despair.

Dear Marilene, What great words to speak for those children of innocence. I pray for peace and comfort and yet know that humans can be so cruel. Your poem filled my heart with compassion for those children. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel
