Politicking Change
Politicking Change

I will not reshape my life
Just because the voices seem many
Who clamor for my metamorphosis.
Though their motives may have merit,
My thoughts and actions will not be subjugated
By the status quo;
So please, don’t ride through my life
On your white Charger Indicating to me
That yours is the “fits all” answer;
My life has been sprinkled with those
Who have thought me to be hard headed,
Stubborn, or strong willed, and outspoken.
Perhaps rightly so;
On occasion,
I have been chosen as a voice for those
Who would refrain from speaking?
I sought no accolades then,
Nor do I make apologies for those times now.
And oh yes,
My comfort zone exists
Because that is where I opt to be.
And when its moving day and the van arrives
If it has some man’s name on the side
I’m not budging!!!
