Political Discourse

I already know everything
Worth knowing.
If you agree,
I hear you!
If you don’t agree
Then you’re part of a great conspiracy,
Or deluded,
Or both.

Sometimes it’s so funny
Just listening to your mistaken ideas.
They make for such great jokes.
I’m falling down,
Laughing.

But,
You know,
That when we get up again,
Smiling at the joke,
At each other’s ‘alien’ thought patterns,
It just might be
The beginning
Of a conversation.
