Political Daze

Watching the candidates debate One feels the pulse of the land We need to make our decision Some feel it is useless and have given up on voting But the vote is the essence of our democracy The power lies with the people When it is time to throw the rascals out we will do it! Political Daze A cloud of dust surrounds the news we get The press is the guardian of our freedom You can't believe everything you read But you can believe some of it Truth will out!

Truth has always, "outed"; well said, Matthew and I wish people would all read this poem. So many have given up on voting and while it's tempting; it's never a good idea. Someone had to say this and you've said it well.

Thanks for your kind words. Poets live in a kind of ethereal world but I still think it is good to be "in the know" about the world. i read the paper and watch political shows on TV. Peace & Love - what is you cat's name - I used to have a cat named Bilbo!
