Poetry Wishes

The name of the game is fame - or is it?
Perhaps poets decide to put their pens to paper
     To share their
most intimate feelings
      with others
The rural poets and the poets of the asphalt homeland
   Have a burning desire
for people to read
their work
and to let the population know
what they feel deep inside
There are plenty of other ways
    to spend ones time
If all you are after is wealth
then you should look somewhere else
for an occupation
Oh, poets of America!
Let your words fly with the wind
  Let us join hands
with the masses
Speak out in verse
on what you know to be true
   Let the sun shine down
   on all of us
Write and speak your words
Let the mad dance of manuscripts continue
Poetry will enable this land to wake up
A subtle kiss n the breeze
is what this country needs

matt, this is really great, but check it over. I saw several typos. Line two I think you meant to say poets and fifth line from bottom has two typos. about my poem, I wish I knew WHO that perfect guy was! Have a great day tomorrow.I am happy I found this one of yours to read!

I feel the passion in your verse. I too think we poets are a different breed and you tell it so well.

Truly, our people could benefit rom a "subtle kisss in the breeze," Matthew. Poets are like the beating hearts of our nation when they join hands and "let their words fly." Enjoyed very much! Love, Carolyn
