Poetry Sucks

The muse just kicked a garbage can The you know what just hit the fan I mutter “I can write…I can” The keyboard trembles ‘neath my touch Words not enough…or way too much The Limerick now a useless crutch I even opened the Thesaurus Got lost within the meaning’s forest Wandered through the meanings porous Alas my fingers once were nimble made the complex rather simple changing warts into a dimple I try to give it latitude Allow a bit of attitude Avoid the dreaded platitude I edit it with nips and tucks Eliminate the WTF’S And yet, at times, Poetry Sucks

Love it, Lawless, you do describe with perfection….what I think most of us go through. I ask myself why am I doing this? For me, I find that poetry is way too short to get across my points. I think you know what some of them are.. LOL. What is so delicious about incomplete and frustrating work? I have a believe it or not writing a book or two. I am going to send you a soup mail also. Loved your own comment. Pangie Airlines..” truth is our setination. Not….mind molestation!lol

But alas you wrote something worth posting. Another Lawless original, signed, framed, and worthy of toasting.
