Poetry once inspired
philosophical exchanges
a rational discourse which sought
the higher moral grounds of civility
paving the way of social change....
But narcissists became the poets
self-absorbed demi-gods
who corupted poetry
till its message was lost
in insane metaphor....
Poet what vision can be found
When haughty words are roared
complicating the simple meaning
of poetic verse
once whispering shades of love...
