Poetry Is My Therapy

Poetry feels good to me because it is honest and true It can land on a plate with a plop, expecting nothing from an eater Sometimes left alone for days and that is okay Poetry is my therapy; it is the way I can cope with things that hurt, disturb, perturb and make me angry or sad. I look forward to it on a daily basis. Every day, it is different. Writing means I can be myself, say what I want, expose my feelings. No one will be rolling their eyes or pointing fingers at me I am inspired by pens, coffee, oranges, walls, cats, dinosaurs, faeries and daisies. I share my poetry with other poets. If they like it, great. If they do not it does not matter For poetry is my therapy. I write for myself To sooth my feelings And live my truth.

Love this poem, Caren. Keep it flowing. Living life through the lens of a poet is a beautiful thing.

It is the way I see things now that you have taught me about poetry, Line. You and hundreds of others.
