Poetry Graveyard

This is just a simple song
to sing about my poems gone wrong.
To sing about the images in my mind
and give them words I could not find.

This is just a simple verse,
for all the message I've rehearsed,
but in the end could not share
because I could not word the concerns fair.

This is to all the poems I wrote
the ones I look back and think a joke.
Maybe they had words that were rushed,
or maybe the message didn't gush.

This tribute is a complex sigh,
to the poems that left me high and dry.
This is a tribute to the ideas still in my mind,
even when I can't give them a rhyme.

I was drawn here by the title. I truly like that this ends on an almost half rhyme; if that's the correct term. Your sentiments expressed are similar to mine. Your "complex sigh" should have been mine every time I submitted on PoetrySoup. I always tried to use the Jackson Pollock paint splatter technique; but with no success. Thanks for this poem Miranda...

Glad you like it. I really do have a few ideas I would love to put to a poem. I guess I would call them philosophical.I will keep trying with those ideas.

I could go back and put this in the grammar checker if that is what you mean.

This is a cool idea, having such poems be in a graveyard. Too bad they don't have graveyard section for which we can place such poems. haha!!

don't be hard on yourself. I remember when I had only my first ten poems, in year 2000

Glad you enjoyed this one. I am nearing the 100 poems written mark. After that I'd love to write a book and get it published. I already have one poem on my chopping block called "Sometimes" (which is my worst poem, but it is on here). Again Thanks!
