Poetry and Freedom

Poetry and Freedom A poet is still free to write about what they choose. Come now, what do we have to lose? Poetry~ one of the last bastions to be free. With political correctness on the raging warpath! After all words with mendacious audacity. To steal words from group-think and rob us of poetic individuality!          December 9, 2019

My friend, I totally agree. My writing is such a blessing to me and in it is freedom as exists nowhere else on earth! One can enjoy creating and communicate thoughts, dreams, ideas, memories, emotions, sorrows, joy, love and etc, in the freedom of our writings here. A godsend methinks! God bless..

Exactly. Many countries do not have our freedoms to express themselves to the max! I reall am fearful of that door on self- expression closing. I pray not! Happiness be yours, Panagiota xx

Indeed, we can use poetry to champion truth toward freedom. May you keep using it for your freedom-driven advocacy: "Poetry~ one of the last bastions to be free." God bless you.

I try, but it costs readers. Too bad! Enter a contest that is political and you get a permanent mark on your back, Beata. So poets have the freedom to not read. Some warned me, I had better change the way I write? We should not punish a poet for their views. Freedom trumps moonlight anyday. Give all poets the right to have their say. God and politics, not wanted here. Food, sex, animals, Kids...OK. It's a dichotomy to me. Panagiota Thanks...

Very well said, Panagiota, politics is the destroyer of art.

Hey, Joe! Politics will allow a crucifix in urine as" art" in NYC but mangers are a no-no as are Pro-life clinics. Maybe, unrelated? But dumb politicians outlaw words. Books are banned in libraries.(Mark Twain). Glad to know this planet will end one day. And an eternal life for a limited amount. Even the holiest on earth may not be in heaven. Meanwhile the words he and she are to be banned next. Try and write a poem without those two. Sad, Joe...Panagiota
