Poetry

Everything we experience in life
shows in our poetry -- both shallow
and deep – weeds and blossoms~
words come forth oscillating bitter/sweet
harvest, from, hopefully, an honest
sowing --

Honest words speak louder...quieter...
even silence between far more
emotive than a blaring trumpeter --

Poems affix in creative silence – before
the birthing, spirit’s cradle of incubation,
adjusting, conforming to individual rhythms
of harmonic space and time --

Individual...singular, yet cooperative --
part of the universal whole – the lightness
we experience along with overwhelming pressures
core-felt while remaining utterly unexplainable --

Consciousness, is the trickle and flood of God --

Dear Joe, So true, whether fiction or not, we write things we feel and think and our poems do reflect and show what we are. I always say that, and you’ve written a poem that as always is so soulfully meaningful! Especially the opening! I really love the lines “ Poems affix in creative silence – before the birthing, spirit’s cradle of incubation,” exquisite choice of words! Pleasure reading your poem today! Sending you light always

Hi Empress; not trying to sound like a know it all, just my opinion: but, for a poem to have sharing power, it must first tingle a reader's curiosity, greet on a soul level, and then unite somewhere-somehow with unity spirit.

"Everything we experience in life shows in our poetry -- both shallow and deep – weeds and blossoms~" So very true....! Can't be disputed. Though many insist that poetry should be an escape from personality, a poem will surely mirror at least some shades of our thoughts and our life itself. When we deflect our individual experiences, many can relate to them as we are a collective entity and our primary emotions are universal. Beautifully composed.

Escape from personality, into personality -- a poem, in one way or another, is always personality -- If it comes out of us, it is personality -- either near-local...nearer God...or the Devil. Thank you, Valsa.

I really like that 'words come forth...from an honest sowing.' As the Psalmist wrote: 'Sow in tears; reap in joy.'

'Sow in tears; reap in joy' -- that is beautiful, Gershon. Hope you are having a nice Passover. Shalom my friend.
