Poetic license 
My memory has chose
To filter out factual events 
As to the dead
My conscious pays
A false connection 
I wished I had felt 
Instead of the gap
Growing up 
Was ever present 
If I have nothing good to say
Lest the dead in fractures lay
Of best intention 
Reproduction 
What could have been
If both parties 
Had more time
