Poetic Inspiration
I think I will I think I might
write a poem tonight.
Writing poems for me is more
than cramming rhyming words galore.
It can be a vent of emotion
When life leaves me alone in an ocean.
Writing can be wings that free my soul,
when the bustle of life blurs my goal.
I likely have an opinion for things on the news
and poetry is one way to share my views.
I've written some poems when mom passed away,
and more lighthearted ones on happier days.
Inspiration can come from unexpected places,
and even be given by unexpected faces.
I must give credit and I must give due,
to the God above who makes my insights new.
