Poetic Ashes

Who will tend the fire when I am gone Roll softening embers into flame-less dreams Set tinder-like thought a-flicker Ignite the force of building passion Contain and shape its form Lest smoke diffuse its truth Who will share the essence of the flame When I have faded into ash

Good question, John. I nominate Yogi Bear and Boo-boo. They never saw flames they couldn't fan! ~ Stokely --- Burn, baby Burn! --- Carmichael

Hello John, I agree with Lin for the poem dances with the quiet intensity of a fading fire. The imagery of embers, tinder, and truth is hauntingly beautiful. Keep stoking those flames. - Blessings, Daniel

Well, Daniel, the muse can get a little melancholy and distracted but them a leaf, a fallen sparrow, a barking dog, a lover, ...and we're off to the races again

Your poetry has always ignited flames of glory in your skill, John. Those embers will not die in my mind, and why the heck are you writing about being gone? Not happening... Nope.

Nope...not going anywhere Lin....at least not without a fight and a possible pair of handcuffs...but then again I can still hit all the key even in cuffs....((this was a hidden metaphor relating to the onslaught of AI issues on the soup))
