Poems That Go Unnoticed

I sit here waiting for maybe a little appreciation,
I'm not asking for much just a little recognition,
from my fellow poets. I am the poem speaking to
you right now.
 
My writer has spent grueling hours creating, developing,
imagining, spelling, rhyming, punctuating, you get the
picture. Enormous effort not being recognized.

He is so excited to show me off. Wanting to share me 
with everyone. Not one is commenting, I'm so sad. He's
so sad.

I sit here waiting patiently to hear from you. You
see, all this work doesn't mean anything, unless you
notice me, you show me love and appreciation. 

I'm going crazy as I sit here waiting. Oh please won't 
you take a peek at me. It's only a minute of your
valued time. Just one small comment will bring
joy to me and my writer.

I sit here in torment. All this effort making me
and no one is noticing. I feel for my writer he 
almost feels like it's a wasted effort. Prove him wrong 
poets, read me please

Hey wait a minute someone noticed me. Oh thank
you for taking the time to read me. Thank you so 
much for your comment. I hope someone notices
your poem like you noticed me.

Edlynn Nau November 4, 2015 at 1:41 PM It is so hard to be writing, reading AND THE WORST with poets. . . Commenting on another's work! I think we are all sitting in the Soup waiting & waiting. Some leave and look for a sandwich elsewhere rather than a constant diet of soup. Others, that can do this 24/7, have a big dish. Most of us are writing from a cup-o-soup. I bet I read more than I write. I will only post 4 a month (the rest I toss). Don't be discouraged I will always drop by for lunch! Good one! Made me laugh. Primarily we write for ourselves, but once we post our work it's obvious that we want to share with others; thus satisfaction is derived from having our poems read and commented on. To write for the love of writing. To write for the glorification of his Muse and when his Muse sees the work he is doing is a worthy one, then she will recognize him and that will be enough! Constance La France September 17, 2015 at 9:22 AM Michael, first I love your personification, and I feel sadness for the poem and the poet, oh yes, it has happened to me also, sometimes I think it is the time of day the poem is posted, for example, late at night, with the pace here so fast it may just move out of sight too fast. sometimes I will post at different times of the day, to keep my username in view, for example, am, afternoon, evening and commenting is how you bring people to your poetry and of course placing in contests works too .. Andrea Dietrich September 16, 2015 at 10:24 PM It is very sad when the poets do not comment back. My first time here in 2010, I introduced myself by commenting to over 75 poets in one day. Of those, Only maybe 10 to 20 replied. I was new, I know that, but I NEVER let a person go without getting a returned comment from ME. Sometimes I think people were raised in dog houses. Listen, you HAVE to comment to get them back. It's the sad truth. I spend 1 to 2 hours a day on mine. So time consuming, but I mostly enjoy it!! Good luck.
