Poems Struggle In Birth
A poem struggles on the bleakest white
Searching for meaning, a reason to be,
Inspired poets, we sit with pen to write
Of love and laughter and things to see.
Sadness sometimes dripping from our pen
Or melancholia leaving hope on the page,
A feeling of euphoria, satisfying returns
But occasionally a poet will start to rage.
Poetry is born through an emotional flow
Every newborn babe delivered in struggle,
Ideas appear and phrases begin to grow
A poet trying the language not to muddle.
Poems are clothed and lovingly presented --
The poet’s skills thus are represented.
