Poem Two

I quit writing in 1983, for 35 years no poems, diaries zip. In 2018, passion sent me the poem on my list, “Gone.” Then in 2019, a new friend asked me why I quit poetry and I wrote this poem to answer him. The poetry has not quit since. The Voice must speak!POETRY II Poetry can be a wretched torture. It Commands a dive into the depths Of the emotional-intellectual-spiritual soul In order to conceive to climb then Its mountains, peaks: Consumption. Communion. Voice. *****(c) sally young eslinger 2019

I quit writing for 35 years also; so this amazed me. It seems like such a coincidence. We are now making up for lost poems, Sally! Well done!

Didn’t now you went thru years of Lost-Voice! Yes, so much now pouring out. I thought of proposing that quitting for a quarter century will cure writer’s block. Hahahaha sad but true! LuvU
