Poem For Ephesians 1:17-19
Lord, each time we know you just a little bit more,
We can see just how different we are now, than before.
Stir up a passion within us, one which never dies,
A desire to be more like you; in our hearts your spirit lies.
Open up our eyes, so we can see so very clear,
The path you've made just for us, and held so very dear.
Build us up to be leaders in this fallen land,
To help guide those who are lost, and offer them a hand.
Help purify our hearts, and make us white as snow,
So we can lead by example, planting seeds that will grow...
Into something so amazing, beautiful and divine,
It could only come from you; you've made us shine.
You're a light in the darkness, and always break through,
For you hold the only power that stands strong and true.
Of all the people on the earth, it was us you chose,
To display your amazing power, so everyone knows:
There are none who can compare to you, not even one;
You've given us this power, which only comes through your son.
But your power is not limited to just you and me;
You've instructed us to share the word with everyone we see.
Give us the boldness we need, and let us be unashamed,
To share the news of your great love, till every soul is claimed.
