Poem 1

My heart has two names
And a couple places to live
Four beautiful blue eyes
And any of them can be seen

One feeling came first
Along with the youth
The other would come later
Blossom into adulthood

Winter and summer,
Holding each other under Christmas lights,
Sand lighten by the stars in an August night

One gave me freedom
The other built my cage
I wouldn’t be able to leave it
Not until today

Two continents, inconsolable differences,
Tradition, toughness, cold hearts
A different way, a different mood
Leaves of grass and snowy woods

Meine Liebe, mein Shatz
My dear or sweetheart
I’ll keep you forever
In this little piece of art
