Plucking Petals

she plucks pink petals one by one till there none a stark bare stem with beauty gone and empty would that she could glue them back but it is done and now no soft and secret silk will tempt thee even the green, moist, straight stem bends in the sun and there are fresh new flowers full and plenty a vast field of flowers frilled and frenzied sought yet only this can tell if he loves you not

Nice poem. It seems like she stands alone, naked, without petals, dressed only in her question, which I also think the answer to is yes, he does love her, because of what he sees, without frills.

I love that there are people like you, who know the value beyond the outward appearance. It's a struggle for me as i grow older. But I'm trying to shift my focus. Thanks David! Xo

When all our youthful beauty and outward frills are hidden with age, it's our inner beauty that they must come to love... more than the veneer, and more than the cover of the book. <3
