Please Try Something New

Please Try Something New You have six favorite words. They always show up in the first or second stanza To read one of your poems is to read them all The redundancy would drive me mad Make me want to swallow a three foot twig with branches Because I am already gagging on same-oh, same-oh When I read your newest which is also your oldest You have a mindset that is as flexible as concrete Throwing in political absoluteness for no understood reason I run from your poetry, wanting to clean my eyes with saltwater I can write those six words But I won't Because then everyone would instantly know Whose poems I am talking about, And I like you as a person. I just want you to try something NEW.

So now I know why you don’t read me anymore Caren, lol, it’s either those six words or my french starts up, very enjoyable piece of verse, cheers David

Hahaha David, I do try to read but there are so many of you that I love! It is difficult to get around to you all. This was for a writing prompt on another poetry site - it is pure fiction.

Gosh, I didn't know you cared, Caren. LOL I think all of us are guilty at times of rewriting old stuff. I certainly am, and, well, let's face it, my vocabulary is limited! Great poem! I'm going to run a check to see if I can find those six words in my poems! I'll let you know.

I know I can find the 6 words in my poems - jumping, fairy, exact, love, jazzy and sparkling.
