Please Tell Me

What am I doing here, whose ring is this? What is this I feel, who is it I kiss? Where have I been, where am I now? Has this happened before, I think, yet how? Oh! Who are you, and what do you think? Is this all a dream, the way that I think? I should hope tis not, but please, tell me true! Am I aloof, does it seem like, to you? Tell me what has gone on, why is it I sigh? Is it that I’m so afraid that you might lie? I think it is true, you can’t see me! I am surely insane, don’t you agree?

dementia or alzheimers comes to mind, maybe even amnesia...i had a neighbor many years ago that would wander in my apartment thinking it was hers, who would ask my assistance when her phone wouldn't turn the tv on and she couldn't answer the ringing phone with her remote.. it was sad to see.... good penning :)

Actually, as you have observed from comments on your writings; one of the 3. Which is nice to me, to know how others interpret the words; this one is more of a gathering of what goes on when one "wakes up" and is after my 3rd concussion and waking up in the hospital again. Oddly the funniest part of one of them was a high-school pick-up football game in the summertime; I had recovered a fumble and my team-mates were getting mad at me when I kept asking them "Who are those guys over there?" They didn't know I had a concussion and we kept on playing, then a while later some of them took me home, wouldn't let me drive. The odd part of concussions is that you recall some things afterwards, like a deja-vu moment. I was reading the morning paper in the hospital that evening and everything seemed familiar somehow; because I had read it that morning before the game. Anyway, I'm happy it brought in other thoughts :)
