Dear Lord, now my daughter is a mother, I pray there is one blessing you will bestow. I am sure she will be caring like no other. But dear Lord please teach her to say NO.

Dear SV, Unsure whether this is a work of fiction, I merely wanted to express my sincere congratulations to both you and your daughter on the happy arrival of your new grandchild. Your earnest prayers for her well-being are unlike any other. However, the final part of your message, in which you urge her to say No is beyond my grasp:)

My dear sweet friend, I am sorry to confuse you, and worry that if I have confused a gentleman of your high intellect, my poem will undoubtedly confuse others. Firstly our only daughter Kim, first became a mother 28 years ago. My reason for my prayer in the poem is because as parents these days, we all seem to find it far easier to say yes to our children, forgetting that while harder to say No, it is necessary for children realize restraints and have a disciplined upbringing. While most of our children grow up as well balance adults, it seems to me some parents are becoming almost slaves to their children, saying yes to every whim. I do think this can be a mistake. I think NO is a hard almost impossible word for some to say. It was just a simple poem written on the spur of the moment, so please disregard it as a failed attempt at a bite sized poem. with love SV
