Pleasantries and Pleasure

Watch people go about their day
  What pleasant things they say:
Mutter, grumble, moan and gripe
Curse and condemn, carp and snipe

Something to prove, on the run, in the groove
Going nowhere fast, see ‘em move
Life’s delights make no impression
  Pleasures lost ~ to incomprehension

GW, you must be hangin' around the wrong people! The one's I see don't usually verbalize ( they just flip the bird!) Seriously though, very nice write and unfortunate collateral damage in the fact paced world. Happy Friday!

gw, at the close of Nightly News on NBC, Lester Holt always has an "Inspiring Moment" which is always positive and uplifting. It's the most worthwhile thing on his program, in my humble opinion.

I say that is absolutely true, gw. A day in the life should be filled with inspiring moments. We should seek them out. We should inhale them like each breath we take.

Interesting comment, Milt. In response, without even one inspiring moment every day, I don't know how anyone can last very long -- exceptions made for extreme situations, such as war, prisoner-of-war, etc. Flip side: Only one moment - an 'instant' - of inspiration?!... I guess that proves the point of the poem. What say you? Thanks, Gershon

Euphonious means harmonious. Thank you!! So much nicer to hear/read than cacophonious (spelling?). ~ Melodies Melodious
