Playing the Game
PLAYING THE GAME
He leans back, his hand hidden from view.
far back in a cocky sort of way.
A player spies a young woman, innocently, walking by,
decides to change the fortune of his competitor.
The young woman turns red, as he shouts,
“Do you want to make love?”
The competition falls behind
His four aces, take a dive.
He feels the wind and the knots.
Reeling, he’s lost his shot.
“Sorry man, let’s do this again someday”
He chuckles and walks
away with his earnings,
Asks the girl out.
“Perhaps, someday,” she says
and walks away in that flirty kind of way.
