Playing God
In arrogance
I ascended
the ancient steps
of earthly glory.
Higher and higher
I climbed
beyond the reach
of my own humanity.
Seeking knowledge
forsaking wisdom
savoring intellect
playing God.
I forgot
pride comes
before the fall
I usurped God's thrown.
God....
was not amused.
