Playing Among the Stars
Moon leads my eye to Venus star so bright
Stars appear before my astonished eyes
Cosmos in the heavens active tonight
It’s glorious August third, no surprise
Who is watching me from planets above?
Aliens up there, are they keeping track?
White of the moon reminds me of a dove.
Galaxy dazzling with no kind of lack
Wholly aware of our soft Milky Way
I want to take a sweet ride on a star.
I think of the cosmos, there I must play!
I promise I will not take it too far.
The moon slips behind a cloud with a wink.
I jump in my jet before I can think.
