I like a little rhyme but not too tight. Iambic steps fall short, too soft. Pentameter is nice, Still I prefer a looser vice. Run fast and free with verse and don’t get caught. -ARCantu 05/18/2023

Your five great lines had me thinking about my own style. For me, many rules in poetry are ...not so much a stop sign.. more a speed bump that get in the way of my flow of thoughts. Lovely write. Cheers - Gary

Thank you Gary. I appreciate your sharing those thoughts. I can relate to the notion of rules as a speed bump style hindrance. lol

When I first started writing my natural beat was iambic tetrameter. Unless I follow a set Poetry Form I mostly write in free verse now. They started charging too much for Pixordia’s Place so all the pages I put so many hours into were lost. Including your poems I had on there.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Sorry to hear so many of your poems were lost. Remember way back when About Poetry said ours in their archives would be saved and safe? Wrong. I lost most of what I wrote during that time, including Uluru Lost, which I so wish I’d saved elsewhere. Ah, well. I’m trying to get back into writing again on a somewhat regular basis.
