Plauge Perspective
Plague Perspective
Shelter in place
Stay physically safe
Don’t allow the plague
To sneak under your
Mask or gloves
Keep those wrap around
Sunglasses over your eyes
Socially distance six feet
And I will do all that
But my heart breaks
At the thought of
Brothers and sisters
That have no one close
That’s safe enough to gift
Them with personal touch
No one to caress their faces
No one to hug or snuggle
Up to as the sun goes down
Eaten by the night skies
And ‘in place’ translates
To alone and frightened
By this invisible monster
Permeating our landscape
Haunting our dream time
And culling our herd with
Random inexplicable contagion
Be gone damn plague
Go home to wherever you
were born and disappear
into your own black hole…
