Seize chances that change shape as we reach for them Attain steam that rises like an uphill train Toil through the colorless surface of work Uncouple the space harness of self doubt Rejoice in the seasonal landscape that grips imagination Nourish civility's charm, ethereal, like the ash rings of Saturn Composed: June 1, 2021

The beginning verbs of each sentence interested me since I just joined a gym. Seizing my chance to go. Rejoicing in the idea I could become healthier. Toiling through the brutal exercise classes. Nourishing my success with a cookie. Your last line was sparkly. I love your poems and hope to write like you someday.

Your kind words have made my day Marikate. Thank you. I've read some your postings. There's no need to follow anyone other than your own poetical voice, which soars well as is. Sincerest appreciation for your stop by + note. Cheers Brian

Congrats on getting 2nd place in my poetry contest from 6 months ago. Sorry it took so long. You writing truly stood out, particularly in how human the subjects was, while vaguely referencing a planet at the end. Loved it. The most creative approach.

Thanks very much Matt. I must admit that I had forgotten about this entry in your Planet Inspiration competition. I appreciate your thoughtful evaluation. Best wishes, Brian

I like this because it doesn’t feel like an Acrostic. I’m not a big fan of this form.

Greetings Christuraj, I most appreciate your kindness in commenting affirmatively. Perhaps you'll look at some of my poems on spring + children to offset my darker pieces? Sincere good wishes, Brian

Dear Brian, your wonderful pen captures Saturn's nature but also captures that which inspires human nature as well. I admire your creative flow and adore "Rejoice in the seasonal landscape that grips imagination". Your poem sparkles with deep imaginative artistry, my friend. A brilliant acrostic. Best wishes for a win and warmest wishes for you.. ~Susan

Hello Susan, Many thanks for your detailed + affirming response to my submission. My first attempt at an Acrostic poem so there's room for improvement. You are most kind in your praise. Best wishes + good health always, Brian

Thanks very much. I tend not to write Acrostic pieces but I gave this contest a whirl. Perhaps the planet's physical characteristics should have been highlighted + not passed, however. Probably lacking there. I appreciate your drop by + your thoughtfulness. Cheers Brian
