Placed There With Love

At the end of the bed
there sits a stuffed bear,
placed there with love,
placed there with care.

A child's favourite toy,
fluffy and white,
placed on the bed
to keep her in sight.

But the bed is empty,
the bear sits alone.
From the room next door
comes the sound of a moan.

No one comes in here,
no one at all
but sounds of sadness
can be heard down the hall.

At the end of the bed
there sits a stuffed bear.
Since the death of their child
no one goes there.

Oh how very sad and how very sweet are your words Francine... this is touching and tender .. sensitive and stirring.. losing a child is the worst thing to cope with in life.. I know as I lost one son at 5 months old .. he is still sorely missed and we still have his stuffed toys kept in our family room...luv..

I actually got chills reading this, Francine. I've known people who can't move a thing in a lost child's room. It's just like the child's spirit still lives there. Must be very painful to cope with this sadness. Genuinely moving, Francine. Love, Carolyn
