Notes About The Poem

This poem is one that has been written and lived by experience, of allowing focus on words and actions of others, to occupy my mind to the degree of finding myself becoming imprisoned by my own hurt, for which hurt became anger, bitterness, and finally an imprisonment, that began leading me down a path of what I felt was one of no return. I could see, by the grace of God showing me, all that was becoming forfeited, had I not changed course. I was being led down a path of feelings of hopelessness, to a death of peace, love, and of even health, if it were not reconned and dealt with. First, I found that their must be enough humility to even admit the need for help... and there are a lot of sources for help, and I encourage, urge, and adjure anyone needing help to get it carefully, make sure the help source is pure... but my greatest compelling is of course to share the source of help that helped me, and also many that I have witnessed received the greatest and most profound help... and that hep is through Christ. May this writ, this poem from the very essence of my being, be at least a sign in the highway, for those seeking freedom from this kind of imprisonment, and not just the right direction, but for deliverance and mind saving help. Blessings.

PIECE OF MY MIND

A PIECE OF MY MIND

“Let me give you, a piece of my mind,”
Is the saying, when you’re about to be told,
But there’s a lesson worth saving, many to learn
worth considering before releasing their scold.

Unbeknownst to the person if they only knew,
When saying all that they’ve longed to say,
The piece of mind imparted, can never be reclaimed,
And then there is hell to pay.

For in giving someone a piece of your mind,
You’ve empowered an occupancy,
An imprisonment that all parties now captured inside,
And are now under lock and key.

Not just the one who was emptied upon,
given the tongue lashing they received,
But the giver from the abundance of the heart who spoke,
Will suffer for their own words believed.

But only One there’ll ever be, that can break every chain
And set ones imprisoned free,
tortured minds that are living words spoken in anger,
causing pain, depression, and disease.

He is the Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace,
New life giver, to all in need,
restoring peace to all pieces, of minds and remnants,
of those imprisoned by their own words or deeds.

So if ever you have suffered giving pieces of your mind,
or have had pieces slowly chipped away,
for the hungry souls that have longed for freedom,
And to just see the light of day,

Light, Life, and Love have come to save you,
Jesus said I Am the Way,
The Truth by the cross demonstrating forgiveness,
Peace for peace, mine for yours to pay.
