Picturesque

Protected am I inside a canopy of luscious green leaves Hand resting on a vine hanging beside me The bench of a log I sit on holds me above the bright blue waters Where I dip my feet and enjoy the swishing wet between my toes In the distance an island awaits for me to swim across There I gather plentiful things that greatly satisfy Here it is never cold nor is it steaming hot A gracious wind always blowing gently caressing the skin Still longingly I gaze for a newcomer to pass through For in this perfect paradise being alone will sadden the heart All these beautiful things to share with no one there hard to endure I will be patient for when they arrive they are sure to stay We will dance on the waters singing sweet melodies Forever caught in visual bliss honored to inhabit such a vivid space contest: Maverick Free Verse by: Virginia Frayer

I will be on the next boat over! You should not have this paradise all to yourself! Joking aside, I enjoyed your heartfelt plea for a solace to complement your serenity.
