Picnic In the Grass
Walking barefoot in the grass,
The dew tickles me,
Insects hide as we trespass,
Walking carefreely,
Picnic hamper in our hand,
Settling in the grass,
A day full of fun we've planned,
Packed lunch was "first class",
Then in the grass, we lay down,
Basking in the sun,
Our children play 'catch' around,
And we watch them run,
After a nap, off we go
Swimming in the lake,
All our faces, now aglow,
In race, we partake,
We rest in the grass, so tired,
Let’s call it a day,
Children ever feeling wired,
Want some more to stay,
So we stay and chat some more,
And play tic tac toe,
Till in the grassy lakeshore,
It’s dark, time to go,
Picnic in the grass enjoyed,
In Summer sublime,
Family time, well-employed,
Join us all some time.
