Listen to poem:
My dearest friend You never fail To trust my hands As songs unveil You do not judge Or run away I hope, have faith That I will stay For long enough Until I prove I want to lull As hands I move Then craft a space When I'm alone Where love can live Through ears and tone You bide your time Let dust collect I love you still With full respect When often life Gets crowded in The time we spend Shaved down to thin But here I sit An urge to play Your healing gift I need today

You make the piano so romantic. But I do love to listen to piano music, it is so soothing. Enjoyed reading

A lovely poem Sam. I am afraid that playing a musical instrument is beyond my ability. I enjoyed your reading of this poem. Thanks for sharing.

What you may lack in musicianship, Jerry, you more than make up for in penmanship! Thanks for being here :)

Dear Sam, a lovely and lilting poem. On the surface this could be a tender tribute to your beloved piano or this could be expressing a neglected relationship that is even deeper. Either way it is beautiful! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Very insightful Susan, I do indeed love my sometimes neglected piano, but when we do engage 'she' knows I care. It's a uniquely special relationship ;) Thank you for our lovely words x

I can tell by reading this that you have a fondness for the piano. Sometimes we need to take a break from the things we love, then come back to it renewed and refreshed. This flows nicely like music.

Piano playing was a way to bring so many emotions to life, in my past. I love to play, but at 80, and no piano at home anymore, it just doesn't happen anymore. I enjoy the reading of your poem today. Sam. Thanks for sharing it with us. Bill

I recommend: CASIO CDP S110 which has a lovely feel and nice piano sound, Bill :))

Bill - that makes me a little sad.. think about getting a nice keyboard, the piano feel is very good nowadays, I had to leave my old upright when I left home, but I get a lot of joy from the electric (Casio have a nice key action). Go on Bill, make me proud and reconnect with that creative side of you!! Blessings.

Awesome narration. I did a lot of these on the past. May have to resurrect a few or create some more. Keep up the good work Sam

Did you read this? You do spoken word very well. I know silent one also is a brilliant spoken word artist. Piano does have that romantic and touching energy that takes us away, to another realm. I love the flow of this poem and how you’ve written “ you do not judge or run away” exactly, “ i love you still with full respect” how heartfelt. Do you play piano? Healing through music is what we need i posted a poem too “ musical healing” which i think many too do, heal through poetry and music.

I did. Sometimes there is a kind of healing in giving the written words life. 'Artist' might be a bit strong (lol).. but you are so generous and kind with your comments, I almost feel like I am. I tinkle and noodle on piano, so much healing there I just struggle to find quality time. Bless you Ink x

Music is so cathartic and something about piano has always captivated my heart! The therapeutic sound of its melody came alive as a lullaby in your words.. Where we try to escape from our world of harsh realities and nourish our souls for sometime.. Maybe, wishing to saturate in its beautiful aura forever! A gorgeous write :)

Your reply is a poem in itself, Hiya.. "therapeutic sound" does indeed summarise the joy and friendship in a piano sound playing and being played with love as an accompaniment to life's joy and woes. Much love and healing music to you my poetic friend :))
