Physical Touch

An arm around one’s shoulder lends comfort;
a hand reaching out lifts somebody up;
a big bear hug shows loved ones affection.
Hand in hand, small children walk to school.
One day, their hand gingerly will touch
that of the one for whom their fondness grows.
Fingers trace the face and stroke the body
of the darling they share sweet kisses with.
What is love without some physical touch?

Karen Jones December 20, 2025 at 1:34 PM Nicely expressed! I think now it is sad that kids can’t be as affectionate as we were in schools due to perverse behavior by various predators. Some kids like I was only receiving attention from a teacher who cared and was professional and life saving. I admit to also having a perverted teacher who targeted abused kids like me.
