PHOTOGRAPHS

Down on my knees
with a dusty old case,
I keep all my treasures
and photos in place.

Grandparents and Uncles,
Aunties with friends,
Old houses, new cars,
the fashions, the trends.

An old photograph
a bit faded and torn.
A picture of grandma,
on the day she was born.

My mum on her bike,
beside her a beau.
My dad with his brothers
and sisters in tow.

Faces of family,who
are no longer here.
Bring back sweet memories,
a smile and a tear.

Each Album a story,
a journey in time.
An heirloom to treasure,
a history--- that's mine.

Hi Shirley this is an exceptional poem that so many of us can relate to in our own box of memories,It has been awhile since I brought my dusty box off of the shelf but this poem inspires me to open it back up again so that I can reflect on all the wonderful memories that I was able to share with all of my loved ones while they were still here.Thank you for sharing your gift and your talent with all of us,Have a great day down under,Dean

Very beautiful. Since it has repeated stanzas; should it be concidered as lyric? or Blues? I like it a lot.
