Phooey To the Super Bowl

Phooey to the Super Bowl By Elton Camp The Super Bowl is played today Everywhere it’s what they say I don’t know the name of the teams That is how trivial to me it seems I, for one, won’t watch them play

This is one of your shorter submissions, but it still has your great descriptiveness and rhyming. I did not watch much of it either.

Elton, I saw your comment on Dr. Ram's poem about Christina A. forgetting some words to the Star Spangled Banner and wholeheartedly agree. When we get nervous, we make mistakes. And the "Banner" is a tough song to sing. Before that, another singer sang "America the Beautiful" and I much prefer that song. It's easier to sing and does not glorify war. Just wanted to let you know I feel sorry for all the heat Christina is taking for slipping on the words. Love, Carolyn

I just love watching the games, Elton..but don;t make it a priority anymore since I had a couple of bookie friends and they helped me to understand that the only ones who win these games ...are the bookies! But still fun for me to watch. Thank you for your comment

My mother and sister felt the same way, Elton, but I'm addicted to football. Understand where you're coming from though! Feel that way about basketball (well, at least most of the time) Love, Carolyn
