Phantom Represser
a phantom lingers
by my side
caressing fingers
refusing to be denied
whispering deviously
attacking my subconscious
lies seeping endlessly
into my conscious
deceptively it speaks
in the voice that's mine
sneakily it seeks
to alter my design
it never refrains
from trying to oppress
this phantom remains
solely to repress
all artistic creativity
and eloquent self-expression
but I'll fight it with poetry
as long as a pen's in my possession
