Phantom Represser

a phantom lingers by my side caressing fingers refusing to be denied whispering deviously attacking my subconscious lies seeping endlessly into my conscious deceptively it speaks in the voice that's mine sneakily it seeks to alter my design it never refrains from trying to oppress this phantom remains solely to repress all artistic creativity and eloquent self-expression but I'll fight it with poetry as long as a pen's in my possession

I've come to learn that many people suffering from depression attribute their low self-esteem to intrusive and incriminating thoughts, which don't feel like one's own conscious. Excellent job capturing this phenomenon that stifles psychiatrists!

That's the best weapon I can think of. Just keep writing and that phantom will be long gone in no time. Really nicely done Christy. I have had a few of these creatures hanging around me from time to time.
